WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR

BLENDED LEARNING

This course, also known as WSI™, trains American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor candidates to teach Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety courses and presentations. In doing so, candidates develop a strong understanding of course materials, training session conduct, and participant evaluation. Consequently, they become qualified to teach a wide range of courses and presentations, including Parent and Child Aquatics Levels 1 and 2, Preschool Aquatics Levels 1-3, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6, three adult courses, Basic Water Rescue, Personal Water Safety, and more.

Instructor candidates must be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the course. Additionally, they must successfully complete the precourse, which includes a demonstration of swimming skills at Learn-to-Swim Level 4.
