GETTING STARTED

  • Enrollments are arranged on a semester basis. Classes meet once per week on your selected day and time for the semester.
  • Enrollments do not roll over; registration is required each semester to reserve your spot.
  • Planned closure dates are excluded from semester tuition.
  • All online enrollments are prorated automatically at checkout to exclude any past classes. You are welcome to join at any time during the semester.

For each class bring the following for each swimmer:

  • Bathing suit
  • Towel
  • Goggles
  • Swim Cap
  • Sandals/slippers (street shoes are prohibited on the pool deck)
  • Swimmers who are not fully toilet trained are required to wear a swim diaper under their bathing suit.

Me & My Shadow swimmers:

  • Must bring the items listed above for both adult and child, plus a swim diaper with a snug-fitting bottom over
  • Must be a swim diaper, regular diapers are prohibited.
  • Swim cap and goggles are not required for this course but long hair (past ears)  must be tied back.

To maintain a respectful, family-friendly environment across all Physique Swimming locations, we ask all adult swimmers to follow the guidelines below when selecting swimwear for lessons, lap swim, and open swim sessions.

Appropriate Swimwear Required
All swimmers must wear proper swimwear designed specifically for aquatic use. Acceptable options include:

  • One-piece swimsuits
  • Well-fitted two-piece swimsuits
  • Swim trunks, jammers, or briefs
  • Rash guards, swim shirts, or performance swim tops
  • Swim caps and goggles

Coverage Expectations

To ensure comfort and professionalism in a shared space with children, families, and staff:

  • Swimwear must provide adequate coverage of the chest, buttocks, and groin area at all times.
  • Styles that expose excessive skin (thongs, micro-bikinis, extremely low-cut or open-side suits, etc.) are not permitted.

No See-Through or Sheer Materials

  • Swimwear made from transparent, mesh, or heavily sheer fabric is not allowed.
  • Suits must remain opaque both dry and wet.

Fit & Function

  • Swimwear should be secure enough to stay in place during normal movement, swimming, and instruction.
  • Clothing not designed for pool use (cotton t-shirts, sports bras, streetwear, etc.) is not permitted as it affects water quality and safety.

Instructor & Staff Discretion

Physique Swimming staff reserve the right to determine if attire meets these guidelines. If swimwear is deemed inappropriate, swimmers may be asked to adjust, cover up, or change before entering the water.

ATTENDANCE + SCHEDULING

Make-up classes are offered as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.

    • Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance and are not automatically assigned.
    • Make-up classes must be scheduled within the same session in which the absence occurred.
    • Each missed class is eligible for a maximum of one (1) make-up class.
    • If a scheduled make-up class is missed, it is forfeited and may not be rescheduled.
    • Make-ups do not carry over to future sessions.
    • All make-ups are subject to availability and class capacity.
    • Make-up classes apply only to participant absences and are not provided for scheduled closures.
    • Make-ups have no cash value and are not eligible for refund or credit.

Physique Swimming reserves the right to limit, deny, or modify make-up scheduling at its sole discretion.

Physique Swimming is always closed on major holidays including:

  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Years
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day

All known closure dates are:

  • Excluded from tuition calculations
  • Listed in program descriptions and/or confirmation communications

No make-up classes, refunds, or credits will be issued for scheduled closures.

Physique Swimming reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Cancel, reschedule, or modify classes
  • Adjust programming, schedules, instructors, or locations.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Inclement weather.
  • Low enrollment.
  • Facility issues or closures.
  • Pool maintenance.
  • Public health concerns.
  • Emergencies or circumstances beyond reasonable control (Force Majeure)

In such cases, Physique Swimming may offer a make-up class or account credit. Refunds will not be issued.

BILLING + PAYMENTS

Payment Terms

  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration
  • Registration is not complete until payment is received.
  • Physique Swimming reserves the right to suspend participation in Services for any account with an outstanding or declined payment until the balance is resolved.

Stored Payment Method

  • A valid payment method must be kept on file
  • You authorize Physique Swimming to charge this method for:
    • Outstanding balances
    • Approved fees or incidentals

Authorization

You expressly authorize Physique Swimming to process payments for any unpaid balances.

You agree to remain responsible for all costs associated with collection of unpaid balances, including reasonable administrative or legal fees where applicable.

Registration Fee

A non-refundable registration fee of $2 per student, per registration will be applied.

If you choose to withdraw from a program:

  • You must notify Physique Swimming via in writing email.
  • Withdrawal requests apply to future classes only and do not retroactively apply to past or missed classes.
  • Any remaining value may, at Physique Swimming’s sole discretion, be issued as an account credit.

Account credits:

    • Have no cash value
    • Are non-transferable
    • Must be used within 12 months of issuance and will expire thereafter
    • May only be applied toward future Services and may not be applied to past balances

Missed or unused classes remain non-refundable and non-creditable.

All sales are final.

Tuition, registration fees, memberships, camps, and all other program fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Missed classes
  • Schedule conflicts
  • Illness or injury
  • Voluntary withdrawal
  • Dissatisfaction with Services

No refunds, credits, or adjustments will be issued for any unused or missed classes except where explicitly stated in these terms.

FACILITY + SAFETY

Please follow all posted pool rules and staff instructions.

  • Street shoes are prohibited on the pool deck for swimmers and spectators and must be removed upon entry.
  • Strollers are prohibited on the pool deck.
  • No eating or drinking on the pool deck.
  • No glass on the pool deck. Reusable/plastic water bottles are permitted.
  • No changing on deck, please use the changing facilities before and after class.
  • Swimmers over the age of 6 must use same-sex locker rooms or family-changing facilities.
  • Swim caps are required for all swimmers.
  • Swimmers must wear a bathing suit for all classes. Streetwear/athletic gear are not permitted in the water.

Participant Health Requirements
To ensure a safe environment for all participants and staff:

  • Participants must not attend classes if they are experiencing symptoms of illness, including but not limited to:
    • Fever
    • Vomiting or diarrhea
    • Persistent cough
    • Contagious skin conditions (e.g., rashes, open wounds)
  • Participants must be fully recovered and symptom-free before returning to class.
  • Physique Swimming reserves the right to refuse participation to any individual displaying signs of illness.

Injury & Medical Conditions

  • Any injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations must be disclosed prior to participation.
  • Participants may be restricted from activities at staff discretion for safety reasons.
  • Participation is at your own risk, as outlined in Section 10.

On-Deck Supervision & Conduct

  • A parent or guardian must remain present and attentive for all participants under the age of 18 unless otherwise specified.
  • Running, rough play, or disruptive behavior on deck is strictly prohibited.
  • All participants and guardians must follow staff instructions at all times.

Hygiene & Facility Expectations

  • Participants are expected to arrive in proper swim attire.
  • Showering prior to entering the pool is strongly encouraged where facilities permit.
  • Swim diapers are required for any child not fully toilet trained.

Emergency Procedures

  • In the event of an emergency, staff will take appropriate action, including administering first aid and contacting emergency services if necessary.
  • By participating, you authorize Physique Swimming staff to act in the best interest of the participant in emergency situations.

By participating, you acknowledge and agree:

Assumption of Risk:

Swimming and related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

    • Slips, falls, and collisions
    • Drowning or near-drowning
    • Physical injury or death

You voluntarily assume all risks, known or unknown.

Release of Liability  & Waiver:

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Physique Swimming, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and facility partners from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in Services.

Indemnification:

You agree to indemnify and defend Physique Swimming against any claims arising from:

  • Participant actions
  • Breach of these terms
  • Misrepresentation of authority to consent

Authority to Agree:

You represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years old, or
  • You are the legal parent/guardian authorized to consent on behalf of the participant

PRIVACY + COMMUNICATION

By participating in Services, you grant Physique Swimming an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free right to capture and use photographs, video, and audio recordings of you and/or your participant(s).

These materials may be used for:

  • Marketing and advertising
  • Social media and website content
  • Educational and staff training purposes

You waive:

  • Any right to compensation
  • Any right to inspect or approve materials
  • Any claims under applicable laws, including New York Civil Rights Law §§ 50–51

By registering, you consent to Physique Swimming:

Collection & Use of Information

  • Collecting and securely storing personal and demographic information
  • Using such information for operational, administrative, and marketing purposes

Communications:

You consent to receive:

  • Service-related communications (schedule updates, safety notices, etc.)
  • Marketing communications via email, phone, or text

Physique Swimming does not sell personal data. Information may be shared with service providers strictly as necessary to operate the business.

Yes, shoes are prohibited on the pool deck and must be removed. We recommend bringing sandals for your swimmer and yourself. If you prefer to leave your shoes on, you may wait in the hallway waiting area.

Yes,  parents or caregivers must remain on-site for the duration of their childʼs lesson in case of emergency.

This is totally normal! Especially for younger swimmers or first-time participants. Most swimmers settle in within the first few lessons as they build trust, confidence, and familiarity. We recommend giving it a few tries to get adjusted to the experience.

Placement is determined by age, comfort, and swim skills relative to the course curriculum. We may recommend level changes as skills to ensure safe and effective learning.

Not to worry! Reach out to us and we can fix that. We are happy to make any necessary adjustments to your enrollment to ensure your swimmer is in the proper level.

Yes! All requests will be considered based on availability. While we cannot guarantee specific instructors or schedules, we do our best to accommodate family preferences whenever possible!

Yes. Class transfers must be requested in advance through the Customer Portal. While class transfers are not guaranteed, we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

We offer private and semi-private lessons for swimmers of all ages & abilities. Availability varies, please contact us directly for current offerings.

Classes are 30 or 60 minutes and designed to match swimmersʼ age, attention span, and learning needs.

Group classes have a student to teacher ratio of:

  • Parent-Child – 6:1
  • Beginners – 4:1
  • Advanced – 5:1
  • Swim Team Prep – 6:1
  • Adults – 6:1

These ratios reflect our instructional goals and the class sizes we plan for. Class size may vary slightly due to enrollment or scheduling needs. Regardless of class size, lessons are always staffed to ensure safety, focused instruction, and a positive learning environment.

For safety and focus, instructors are not able to answer questions or address concerns during lessons. All questions, scheduling requests, or concerns should be directed to our on-site management team or office through our main communication channels.

Photos and videos of your swimmer during class are permitted but we kindly ask that you are mindful of the privacy of the other swimmers and staff. Photos/videos are prohibited in the locker rooms and changing areas.
