Physique Swimming Covid Policy

At Physique Swimming, the health and safety of our students, staff, and the communities which we serve is our utmost priority and it is our goal to provide the safest experience possible.

We understand the ever-changing and unpredictable nature of the current situation and are closely following all updates, mandates, and guidelines.

We are currently following all local, state, and federal Covid-19 mandates and guidelines including but not limited to the following:

Vaccine Mandates:

  • All participants ages 5 and up are required to be vaccinated to participate in indoor sports, including swimming.
  • All teaching and support staff are fully vaccinated.
  • At the current time, boosters are not required for staff or participants, but we are encouraging boosters for those who are eligible as an extra layer of protection.

Mask & Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Masks or other approved face coverings are required at all times in our facilities, including the pool deck and changing areas. Swimmers can remove their masks prior to entering the water for their class.
  • All staff are required to wear masks at all times, including when teaching on deck.
  • According to CDC guidelines, masks are not recommended in the water as they can obstruct breathing once they are wet.
  • The teaching staff is required to wear protective face shields while teaching in the water.

Social Distancing and Capacity Limits:

  • In addition to mask and vaccine requirements, we are encouraging social distancing at all times.
  • All facilities will have an on-deck capacity limit based on the size of the facility.
  • To avoid crowding, please limit non-swimming participants/spectators to 1 person per family.

Positive Results or Exposure:

  • If you have received a positive test result or been exposed to Covid-19 please isolate according to current CDC guidelines and refrain from attending class until you receive a negative test result.
  • If you receive a positive test result, please contact us as soon as possible to allow for proper contact tracing.

Health Screening:

  • Participants are required to complete the health screening questionnaire using the link or QR code below prior to arrival at the facility: Spectrum Health Symptom Checker

To ensure the health and safety of our communities, we strongly urge all swimmers, parents, and staff alike to adhere to the following best practices:

1. If you or someone in your household is sick or has been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home as per current CDC guidelines and refrain from entering Physique Swimming facilities.
2. If you have traveled to any of the countries identified by the CDC as having widespread sustained (ongoing) transmission of COVID-19, please refrain from attending class for 14 days.
3. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, and/or sneezing.
4. Wash your hands with soap thoroughly for at least 20-30 seconds when using any of the bathroom/locker facilities.
5. Thoroughly rinse your body with soap and water before and after class, including hair, face, eyes, hands, and feet.
6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
7. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
8. Dry your hair thoroughly before exiting the facility.
9. Thoroughly dry your body before leaving the pool, including crevices such as ears, toes, etc.
10. Wear dry clothes and multiple layers before and after class.
11. Remove street shoes on the pool deck, this helps ensure the overall cleanliness of the facility and eliminates the introduction of contaminants into the pool.
